Dear client, 

If you intend to register your marriage in China, please make sure you have checked with the Foreign Marriage Registration Office of the Department of Civil Bureau to obtain advice on their requirements. 

The Australian Consulate-General in Chengdu can issue you with a Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) to enable you to marry in China. You need to bring your original Australian Passport and your intended spouse’s original Chinese passport or Chinese ID card. If either of you have been married before you will also need to provide original divorce papers or the original death certificate of the former spouse and complete the details of the divorce/death on the CNI application from. If the aforementioned documents are not in English, they must be accompanied by an English translation, prepared by a professional translator.  

If you have an Australia Divorce Order, you need to gain the access via https://www.comcourts.gov.au so that your Australia Divorce Order can be viewed by us online. The link https://www.fcfcoa.gov.au/hdi/prove-divorce will walk you through how to do it. 

You can download the CNI Application Form via smartraveller.gov.au. Please complete the form in English, and please make sure you use black colour pen and upper-case letters. Please don’t sign (page 3) until you are instructed to do so by the consular officer at the counter.

澳大利亚驻成都总领事馆可以为您出具婚姻无障碍证明以便您在中国注册登记结婚。您需要携带您的澳大利亚护照原件和您配偶的中国护照原件或者身份证原件。如果你们中的任何一方有过婚史，您还需要提供离婚文件原件或前配偶的死亡证明原件，并在 CNI 申请表中填写有关离异/丧偶的详细信息。如您所提供的前述文件非英文，您需提交由专业翻译人员翻译的英文翻译原件。

您可从smartraveller.gov.au下载CNI申请表。请用英文填写表格，并使用黑色笔并大写字母。签字（第三页）须经由公证人员面签，请勿提前签名。
